NATO's use Uranium in the attack on Libya
Fri Apr 15, 2011 7:02 am
Tripoli - An American journalist said that U.S. and NATO troops using missiles and bombs with depleted uranium (DU) in the attack on Libya.
Conn Hallinan, a columnist with foreign policy focus, based in Berkeley, California says that "The fact that the U.S. rejected the use of uranium is just nonsense."
Hallinan notes that Western air attacks with explosions that produce "large fireball" is a unique characteristic that is only caused by DU bombs, he said as quoted by Press TV.
"Long-term consequences will be very severe," he added.
The impact caused by the use of DU weapons include a variety of health problems, ranging from various types of cancer, like leukemia to a genetic mutation. He also contaminate air, water and soil with radioaktiv.
Other reports have confirmed the use of DU since the grounding zone in Libya.
Though the UN has banned the use, manufacture, testing, sale and stockpiling of DU weapons. But on the basis of "UN Security Council resolution", the U.S. and its allies attacked Libya bans weapons they use, ironic!
