ZINJIBAR - At least six people were killed and dozens wounded on Monday (6/13/2011) when the air force launched an air attack in the Yemeni province of Abyan, Xinhua reported.

The rocket fired by the air force struck the civilian residential buildings in the town of Jaar.

Saleh's military regime claims that the attack was carried out based on the "fact" that Al Qaeda Mujahideen Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) may already have a base in the city. report added that the death toll would probably rise.

Meanwhile, Mujahideen AQAP continue to spread their activities in the strategic port city, Aden. It was reported that a senior officer has been killed in the southern port city. Said to have exploded a bomb in his car.

In turn, some media reported that Saleh's regime at least 80 soldiers havebeen killed and more than 200 injured in two-week battle in the town of Zinjibar. According to sources puppet regime, 60 Mujahid killed and 90 injured, but this figure has not
received confirmation from the Mujahideen.

Meanwhile, the Washington Post wrote that the mujahideen AQAP trying to establish
control over parts of southern Yemen, to take an active sea area used to export oil to Western countries.

The newspaper wrote that the mujahideen in addition to freeing Zinjibar, also has freed several other cities. Not stopping there, they kept moving to other provinces in the south. AQAP Mujahedeen quickly tried to take control of southern Yemen, as much as possible.

Yemen itself is a strategically important country for U.S. and Arab. Oil transit through territorial waters of Yemen.

Washington Post continued that the Yemeni regime does not allow foreign journalists to enter Zinjibar. Therefore, they make conclusions based on a telephone conversation with the locals and other sources.

There are around 700 Mujahid in Zinjibar and the surrounding area, officials said Saleh regime.

"They want to establish Islamic Emirate," said Mohammed al-Shuhairi (50) a journalist at al-Kowdm near Zinjibar.

Keep in mind that Abyan Islamic Emirate was proclaimed in March 2011.

Muslims from various provinces in Yemen and other countries also came to the Abyan. They unite in a military organization called Ansar al-Sharia, or Islamic supporters who worked closely with the Mujahideen AQAP.

Control over Zinjibar conducted by Mujahideen AQAP has found the opportunity to influence the world oil supply. In addition they have the opportunity to attack the important port city in Yemen, Aden.
