CAIRO - Egypt has offered a temporary Cabinet resignation to the Board's ruling military in the country when clashes flared for a third day in the field Tahrir, police and army against unarmed demonstrators demanding change.
"The government of Prime Minister Essam Sharaf has submitted resignation to the (ruler) of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces," said Mohammed Hegazy, cabinet spokesman, said in a statement released on Monday (21/11/2011) night by the official MENA news agency.
"Because of the difficult situation that must be passed this country, the government will continue to work until the resignation is accepted," said Hegazy.
The resignation came as clashes with security forces continued to deteriorate since the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak, Egypt's former president in February.
Egypt's Health Ministry announced at least 33 people have been killed and 1,500 injured in clashes between government forces using excessive force against peaceful demonstrators since Saturday (19/11).
