Damascus - Some activists claim that the Syrian security forces have killed at least 20 people on Friday (11/11/2011) while the demonstrators asked the Arab League to take action against Damascus in response to the violence that has been going on.

Activists in Homs, locations with the highest number of victims killed during the protests took place against President Bashar al-Assad since last March, said that security forces killed nine civilians and one soldier who defected from the regime. Similar incidents occurred in Hama.

"People want to Syria in the Arab League membership immediately terminated," shouted the protesters during a demonstration in the district of Al-Sham Busra in Homs. The protesters want the aspiration is processed in the Arab League meeting in Cairo today (12/11).

Under the plan of the Arab League agreed on 2 November, Syria pledged to withdraw its military from the area residents, freeing political prisoners and initiate a dialogue with the opposition.

But since then, even the Assad regime military forces killed more than 100 people in Homs, Human Rights Watch reported on Friday (11/11).

"There is an agenda of systematic violence against civilians in Homs conducted by the Syrian government forces, including torture and illegal killings and crimes against humanity constitution," the rights watchdog group said.

HRW also called on Syria expelled from the Arab League and the United Nations immediately take firm action against those responsible for such violence, as well as dragging the Syrian regime to the International Criminal Court.
