Mujahideen responsible for the murder of the little brother of the puppet president of Afghanistan

KABUL - Mujahideen claimed responsibility for killing the younger brother of President Hamid Karzai on Tuesday (12/07/2011), and called it "One of the greatest achievements in the war that lasted nearly a decade."

A spokesman for the Mujahideen, Usuf Ahmadi, told AFP by telephone that a mujahid who commissioned one of clever shoot to kill Ahmed Wali Karzai, a powerful figure and controversial in southern Afghanistan.

A senior official in the Afghan intelligence agency said Wali Karzai was shot to death in her home by one of his old friend named "Sardar Mohammed" who later killed by security guards after the murder.

"This is one of the greatest achievements since the operation began. We were commissioned to kill him and Sardar Muhammad Sardar Muhammad was martyred, "said Ahmadi.

Meanwhile, Wali Karzai family who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Wali Karzai was killed by his own guards while entertaining guests at home.

A health official, also speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the Wali Karzai has been shot to death.

The killing came as Afghan President Hamid Karzai for talks with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, in a surprise visit to Afghanistan where he announced the withdrawal of 1,000 troops by the end of the French troops next year.

Wali Karzai, who served as head of the Kandahar provincial council, has long been a highly controversial figure in Afghanistan. He was involved with the opium trade in Afghanistan and profitable private security companies.

In one of the WikiLeaks documents that leaked late last year, Wali Karzai described drug dealer who is very corrupt, deliberately nurtured and tolerated by the West.
