OSLO - A Norway startling explosion on Friday (07/22/2011). The blast destroyed a number of government-owned buildings, including the prime minister's office. According to reports, two people were killed in this incident, CBS News launched.

Scores of others injured when a bomb exploded and destroyed the windows of buildings dominated by the glass. Local police confirmed the cause of the explosion was a bomb carried by a black car. The car is still parked in the middle of post-blast site.

Prime minister of Norway, Jens Stoltenberg, was reported safe, the government
spokesman, Camilla Ryste, tells the Associated Press, although it is unclear whether Stoltenberg injured or not.

One witness named Ole Tommy Pedersen who was standing at the bus stop is
located 100 meters from the site stated that the explosion took place
around 15:30 local time. He saw three or four people who were injured were taken out of the building a few minutes after the explosion took place.

The bombing occurred during the Norwegian national wrestling with the issue of terrorism associated with al Qaeda. Two people suspected of involvement with Al Qaeda to own now languishing in jail while awaiting court verdict on charges that befall them.

Last week, Norwegian prosecutors filed terrorism charges against an Iraqi-born cleric, Mullah Krekar (founder of the group Ansar al-Islam) claimed Norwegian politician threatened with death if he is deported from the Scandinavian countries.

As other countries, the issue of terrorism is always linked to Islam has been considerable concern in neighboring Denmark. The debate took place since the emergence of the Prophet Muhammad cartoons last six years.

The Danish government claims to have foiled several terror plots linked to a
newspaper cartoonist who sparked protests in Muslim countries. Last month, a Danish appeals court on Wednesday sentenced a Somali man to 10 years in prison for attempting to enter the house of the cartoonists.
