Good news. GameStop leaked memo about the planned series on the PS3 is not wrong, but also not entirely correct.
While Sony is really secretly PS3 will launch a new series (called CECH-3000), the model apparently will not require gamers to use the HDMI for HD quality can result in game play. HDMI will only be required when gamers want to watch movies in HD format.
Changes in these standards appears to be the result of the agreement AACS (Advanced Access Content System) which limits the extent to which the Blu-ray can be produced television.
"The latest series CECH-3000 PS3 HDMI only need to produce the HD quality of Blu-ray movies, in order to meet AACS standard," said a representative from Sony. "PS3 continues to support the component output in HD gaming and streaming content."
In the morning PlayStation series has confirmed that this latest model is ready to be marketed, without affecting the support to play games in HD format via component cables.
