Yemeni warplanes attacked Zinjibar after AQAP Mujahideen declared as the capital of the Islamic Emirate

ZINJIBAR - Yemeni fighter aircraft have been bombarding the Mujahideen of Al-Qaeda positions in the city of Zinjibar, after the Mujahideen declared the city as the capital of the Islamic Emirate, local residents said.

Population, Ali Dahmas said he saw fighter jets opened fire on the southern outskirts of the city and heard a loud explosion which was followed by thick smoke into the air.

Military units to fight the Mujahideen are reported in Zinjibar who have mastered the city, on Sunday (5/30/2011) in an effort to drive out of town tersebt Mujahideen.

The attack is said to have killed four "militants", according to sources Yemeni authorities. There is no publication that states the resistance of the Mujahideen. Mujahideen party itself has not issued an official statement related to this event.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni regime's air strikes also hit the city of Taiz, which killed at least 20 protesters and wounding hundreds of others.

A Reuters photographer who was at the scene on Sunday (30 / 5) said police fired live ammunition, tear gas and using water cannons to disperse demonstrators.

"At least 20 protesters were killed," said one protest organizer, as reported by AFP.

The demonstrators there demand the release of a protester who had been arrested since 28 May.
